Deviation O-023 is a toy beaver crocheted from coarse yarn approximately 1.5 meters in height. The Deviation wears a small helmet on its head and has a prominent pair of front teeth. The Deviation is made of a water-resistant yarn, allowing it to swim normally. Deviation O-023 has the intelligence of a typical adult human and can communicate fluently in English with researchers, albeit with a noticeable accent. Despite its intelligence, the Deviation continues to display many behavioral patterns typical of beavers. Deviation O-023's primary trait is its ability to break down any object that comes into contact with its two front teeth and convert them into wooden cellulose particles measuring approximately 4-8mm in diameter. Researchers have been unable to work out exactly what kind of wood these particles are made of. The process itself does not seem to harm the Deviation itself. Deviation O-023 claims to belong to a colony with around 4,000 beavers, but researchers have not found any evidence to support this claim. If, however, the human asks the Deviation to demolish a structure, the Deviation will happily accept, and complete the task within the agreed timeframe. Upon completion of a project, the Deviation will request a portion of the debris as payment. It will then take these materials to the nearest river or flowing water body, where they will disappear upon contact with the water surface. Attempts to track these materials using remote transmitters have been unsuccessful. Given its ability to break out of any securement chamber with its teeth, Deviation O-023 has proven impossible to secure. However, Supervisor at has resolved the situation by "hiring" the Deviation on an open-ended contract, and tasking it with logging duties at Site . The Deviation has agreed to work 8 hours daily in return for on-site accommodation and an agreed quantity of hardwood as payment. Securement Procedures: Do: Provide Deviation O-023 with a securement suite Level III or higher as "accommodation." Deviation O-023 should be tagged with a satellite positioning transmitter, as per the contract. If the Deviation questions this, explain that the device is for recording attendance, and issue a stern reminder about punctuality.
