Wildlife

Wildlife in the game Once Human plays a major role in exploration, survival, crafting, and resource gathering. The world is filled with a variety of animals ranging from common deer, rabbits, boars, wolves, bears, and birds to region-specific creatures adapted to different environments. Players can hunt wildlife for valuable resources such as meat, hides, leather, fur, feathers, and other crafting materials used for cooking, armor production, and equipment upgrades.

Many animals behave naturally within the environment, grazing, roaming, fleeing from threats, or defending themselves when provoked, making the world feel more alive and immersive. Certain scenarios also introduce unique mutated wildlife affected by Stardust contamination, creating more dangerous encounters and offering rare resources. Beyond hunting, some animals can be raised through the ranching system, allowing players to gather renewable resources such as wool, hides, and other materials while building a self-sustaining territory.

The combination of realistic animal behavior, resource management, hunting mechanics, and creature husbandry makes wildlife an important part of the survival experience in Once Human, contributing to both immersion and long-term progression.
